State v. Uribe

January 2012

Tried and Won

by Attorney Sean C. Chapman

As a Federal Prosecutor and Criminal Defense Lawyer

Mr. Chapman defended a Border Patrol agent who was accused of molesting a 10-year old girl.  The alleged victim was the defendant's minor daughter.  The defendant was charged by indictment with multiple counts of dangerous crimes against children and pled not guilty.  Mr. Uribe faced two counts of molestation of a child and one count of sexual conduct with a child under 15.  A conviction on the molestation charges would have meant a possible 10 to 24 years in prison and the sexual conduct charge carried a potential 35 years to life imprisonment.  Mr. Uribe was found not guilty on all charges.
