2008
State v. Corbett
In this case, the State of Arizona charged a U.S. Border Patrol Agent with murdering an illegal entrant. Mr. Chapman, acting as Mr. Corbett’s attorney, defended him in two separate federal murder trials. On each occasion, the jury refused to convict the defendant. After the second trial, the case was dismissed.

2005
State v. Hermosillo
In this case, the State charged a U.S. Border Patrol Agent with homicide for shooting an illegal entrant. Mr. Chapman, acting as Mr. Hermosillo’s defense attorney, was able to secure a dismissal of the case prior to trial.
2004
U.S. v. Dionicio Ramirez
In this case, Mr. Chapman successfully prosecuted an individual who was involved in the murder of a United States Park Service Ranger on the Organ Pipe National Forest. The defendant was sentenced to a substantial prison sentence. As a result of this prosecution, Mr. Chapman received an award as the “National Prosecutor of the Year” for 2004 by the Federal Law Enforcement Officers Association.

2002
State v. Johnson
In this case, Mr. Chapman successfully prosecuted a US Border Patrol agent who, while on duty, raped an illegal entrant. The defendant was sentenced to seven years imprisonment. Mr. Chapman received an award for from the Department of Justice as a result of this prosecution for “outstanding prosecution of corruption within the U.S. Department of Justice.”

U.S. v. Anita
In this case, Mr. Chapman successfully prosecuted two individuals who viciously attacked and murdered a Casa Grande taxi driver, and then hid his body on the Tohono Odham reservation. The primary defendant was sentenced to life in prison.
2000
U.S. V. WAGGONER
U.S. V. TAYLOR
In these cases, Mr. Chapman successfully prosecuted two individuals who brutally murdered a DEA informant in Tucson in retaliation for the informant’s agreement to testify against members of a drug organization. Both defendants are now serving life sentences in federal prison. As a result of this prosecution, Mr. Chapman received a “Directors Award” by the Department of Justice for “superior performance” as a federal prosecutor.
